Many Cambodians visit Malaysia and Singapore

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- During Water Festival, some people have left their home towns to Phnom Penh to join the festival while some Cambodians have left the country for abroad.

Mr Ang Kim Eang, President of the Cambodian Association of the Travel Agents said that many Cambodians have left for Malaysia and Singapore while the others visit Vietnam, Hong Kong, etc.

He added that Malaysia and Singapore have become crucial tourist destinations since the travel packages are cheap and there are more flights.

According to the statistics of the ministry of Tourism, almost one million Cambodians have visited abroad every year. The purposes of the visits are business, tour, health and shopping.

Mr. Kim Eang said that 10 -15 % of Cambodian people can afford to visit other countries 2 to 3 times per year. 20-25 % can afford to do so, once per year.

These rich Khmers could cut the traveling and give the money to the poors. But as we all know, they don't.

Other Khmers will invoke violence, chaos and demand the Cambodian government to share power or they will drive the jobs away to produce more poors. That's really nasty.

The Union Leaders instead of fighting the factories for the garment workers' working condition, they fought the Cambodian government for an reasonable wage. They colluded with the CNRP to gain power.

It was never about the poor workers' wage, it's about finding a condition the good Cambodian cannot accept then attack.
