PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) – Many small and media companies of Japan are showing their interest in doing business in Cambodia, according to an assistant of Prime Minister Hun Sen.
Ieng Sophalet, Hun Sen’s personal assistant, quoted Watanabe Kohei, President of the Mekong-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee as saying that he led a Japanese 30-member delegation to study the investment opportunities and political environments in Cambodia.
99 percent of Japanese small and medium companies are interested in investing in Asia, especially in Cambodia, which is located at on important area of Robeang economic entrance, said Watanabe Kohei, President of the Mekong-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee.
Watanabe made comments during his meeting Monday with Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Phnom Penh’s Peace Palace.
Watanabe said the Japanese investors are willing to strengthen further cooperation with Cambodia.
He said the agreement of direct flight from Japan to Cambodia is very important to boost and attract more Japanese investors, tourists to Cambodia as well as to boost further cooperation in cultural sector.
He said the direct flight from Cambodia to Japan is in the trial process, and the company would kick off the direct flights after successful trial.
