7 February 2014 – The head of the United Nations agency tasked with defending press freedom today deplored the killing of Cambodian journalist Suon Chan and called for those responsible for the killing to be brought to justice.
“I am appalled by the brutal killing of Suon Chan,” Irina Bokova, the Director-General of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), said in a news release.
“Society as a whole suffers when violence is used to silence journalists in the line of duty. The perpetrators of this crime should be brought to justice to strengthen freedom of expression and press freedom in Cambodia.”
A group of men wielding stones and bamboo sticks attacked Mr. Chan, 44, near his home in Cholkiri, Kampong Chhnang province, on the evening of 31 January. Two people who came to help him were also injured. The three were taken to a local hospital but Mr. Chan, who was particularly badly injured, died during his transfer to a hospital in the capital, Phnom Penh.
The attack is widely reported to have been carried out in retaliation for his work for theMaekea Kampuchea newspaper on illegal fishing in the province, according to UNESCO.

Layer or barrister can’t issue any latters to request other party to answer anything for 14 days. Only Court can issue latters or call other party to defense themselves or show evidences in certain of period.
Therefore, Miss. Kem Monovithya talks about ICC and her lawyer or barrister is scam and fraud to gain donation fund that only benefit her and her clan again. The people that live at USA must file a complaint to their local authority about this scam, fraud because this scams fraud happens at America soil.

Cambodia is still a very violent country. Just read the news, the local fishermen violent attacked and killed the journalist for reporting illegal fishing.

Are these fishermen Vietnamese or they are Khmer. You folks let me know.

Vietnam does not have this kind of problem, nor Laos.

One time at a high-tech company, I saw a Vietnamese co-worker using company's resource for his personal use. I politely reminded him of the company policy prohibiting such personal use. He got very combative verbally at me.

I wrote email to confront him again. Then after a few exchanges, I forwarded the emails to his manager. He got fired the next day and got very mad at me.

I have German honor and have a difficult time dealing with Asians. Now, I have never met a Cambodian coworker before. They just never cut it in the high-tech industry.

But I bet, I might get into a fist fight with a Cambodian coworker if I confront the person for any wrong doing.
