PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Independent analysts requested the Cambodian King to invite the leaders of Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) to a negotiation table to end the political tension following yesterday's violent crackdown, which killed at least four protesters.

The three Cambodian independent analysts are Dr. Lao Monghai, Dr. Sok Touch and Dr. Kem Ley, who wrote a joint letter yesterday to propose His Majesty the King to invite the leaders of the CPP and CNRP to a negotiation table at a convenient time under the King’s presidency.

The letter points out that the violence between factory workers and armed forces rendered several civilians dead and wounded. The incident has been happening due to the failed talks between the two parties.

“With such shocking event, our country immediately need the indispensable role of His Majesty the King as stipulated in the Constitution as a mediator and symbol of national unity to settle this deep political crisis,” said the letter.

Yesterday’ s crackdown was the most serious and the third one since the July election which brought about political deadlock as the opposition CNRP denied the election results which showed that it won 55 and CPP of Prime Minister Hun Sen won 68 in the 123-seat parliament, arguing that there were too many irregularities.

Ah mauk Sihamuni does not know anything what has happened in khmer country. Useless and fake king cannot help the country at all. He does not feel khmer suffering , just stay in the palace and bow his head and salute the evil Hun kwac and ah Hanoi. So sad and so hurt for khmer people.

he should have seized this opportunity to do something good for the people but instead has chosen to stay quiet just the way his boss -- the dictator--- wanted... probably too busy prancing around in his ballet tight or tutu dress.... what a waste of human space..
