HCM CITY — Viet Nam would co-operate closely with Cambodia during Cambodia's ASEAN presidency next year, said Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh (pictured) in HCM City yesterday.
Minh told visiting Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation Ung Sean that he highly appreciated the co-operation between the two ministries in the implementation of high level agreements which had contributed to enhancing and boosting bilateral relations.
He urged for further co-operation between ministries, especially during Viet Nam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2012 and celebration of the 45th year of diplomatic relations next year.
A two-day meeting between the ministries, held in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, ended on Wednesday. The two sides reviewed co-operation activities and discussed recent regional and international issues.
Also yesterday, senior Vietnamese and Cambodian officials met in HCM City to prepare for today's 7th Meeting on Co-operation and Development between border provinces of Cambodia and Viet Nam. — VNS
