Reports from military sources based in Choam Ksan district near Preah Vihear temple said that up to this point, Thai troops have continued to dig trenches in the "Demilitarised Zone" drawn up by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) near Phnom Trop area, about 5 km from Preah Vihear temple.
A Cambodian soldier based at Phnom Trop said that since October 2011, Thai troops had sneaked in by day to place the Buddha statue inside the "Demiliatrised Zone" (DMZ) and come by night to dig the trenches even if the Cambodian soldiers had attempted to stop them. "They have not withdrawn yet, but instead have dug in deeply and built strong trenches inside the area. I heard the sound everyday like they are laying the concrete slab", he said.
Gen. Srey Doek, Cambodian commander of the area, refused to comment of the allegation by the Cambodian soldier, only saying that the situation in the area is still normal.
However, Mr. Koy Kuong, spokesman for the Cambodian Foreign Ministry, said the Cambodian side had sent a diplomatic note of protest to the Thai government through the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh and also sent a copy the ICJ. He said Cambodia would not allow Thai troops to do anything in the DMZ. "Such action not only violates the territorial integrity of Cambodia, but also violates the order of the ICJ on 18th July 2011 which has imposed the provisional demilitarised zone in the area", he said.
The Thai government, on the other hand, is silent on the issue. However, Sorachak Boranaksamrit, counsel to the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, said he read news from the Cambodian press, but refused to elaborate on the issue, saying it is a government to government issue between the two countries. "I only read it from the Cambodian press, but I am not a politician and the embassy did not receive any information (from the Thai government) yet. Beside, in my country, there is no press report about this issue, so I could not comment on the issue", he said.

ទាហានខ្មែរម្នាក់នៅលើកំពូលភ្នំទ្រព្យ បានមានប្រសាសន៍កាលពីរសៀលថ្ងៃសុក្រ ទី១០ ខែកុម្ភៈ ថា ចាប់តាំងពីអំឡុងខែតុលា ឆ្នាំ២០១១ ទាហានថៃ បានលួចដាក់ព្រះ ហើយពេលយប់ៗបានលួចធ្វើលេណដ្ឋានចូលមកក្នុងទឹកដីជម្លោះព្រំដែន ដែលជាតំបន់ហាមឃាត់មិនឱ្យមានកងទ័ព។ រហូតមកដល់ពេលនេះ កងទ័ពថៃ ក៏នៅតែបំពានដដែល៖ «អត់ដកទេ មានតែធ្វើលេណដ្ឋានរឹងមាំទៀត ឥឡូវហ្នឹង។ ឮតែធ្វើក្រោកក្រាករាល់តែថ្ងៃ របៀបដូចចាក់សាបចាក់អី»។
ទោះយ៉ាងណា លោកឧត្តមសេនីយ៍ឯក ស្រី ឌឹក មេបញ្ជាការយោធាខ្មែរដែលគ្រប់គ្រងតំបន់នោះ មិនធ្វើអធិប្បាយអ្វីឡើយ ដោយលោកគ្រាន់តែមានប្រសាសន៍ថា រហូតមកដល់ពេលនេះការប្រឈមមុខដាក់គ្នាដោយយោធានៅទីនោះ ស្ថិតក្នុងស្ថានភាពជាធម្មតា។
ក្រសួងការបរទេសកម្ពុជា កាលពីថ្ងៃទី៨ ខែកុម្ភៈ កន្លងទៅ បានធ្វើកំណត់ហេតុទូតតវ៉ាមួយទៅកាន់រដ្ឋាភិបាលថៃ តាមរយៈស្ថានទូតថៃប្រចាំកម្ពុជា ដើម្បីប្រឆាំងនឹងសកម្មភាពរបស់ទាហានថៃ ទាំងនោះ។ កំណត់ហេតុទូតនោះ បានចម្លងជូនទៅតុលាការយុត្តិធម៌អន្តរជាតិប្រចាំទីក្រុងឡាអេ ផងដែរ។
លោក កុយ គួង អ្នកនាំពាក្យក្រសួងការបរទេសកម្ពុជា បានមានប្រសាសន៍ថា កម្ពុជាតវ៉ាដាច់ខាត មិនឱ្យកងទ័ពថៃ ធ្វើសកម្មភាពបែបនោះទេ៖ «សកម្មភាពហ្នឹងមិនត្រឹមបំពានបូរណភាពទឹកដីកម្ពុជា យើងប៉ុណ្ណោះទេ គឺថែមទាំងរំលោភបំពានទៅនឹងសាលដីកាទីក្រុងឡាអេ ថ្ងៃទី១៨ ខែកក្កដា ឆ្នាំ២០១១ ដែលកំណត់ឱ្យមានតំបន់គ្មានកងទ័ពបណ្ដោះអាសន្ននោះ»។
ចំណែករដ្ឋាភិបាលថៃ នៅតែរក្សាជំហរស្ងៀមស្ងាត់មិនមានការឆ្លើយតបអ្វីទេ រហូតមកដល់ពេលនេះ។

កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១៣ ខែមករា កន្លងទៅ អាជ្ញាធរជាតិព្រះវិហារទទួលបន្ទុកថែរក្សា និងការពារប្រាសាទបុរាណព្រះវិហារ នៅលើខ្នងភ្នំដងរែក និងគណៈកម្មាធិការជាតិបេតិកភណ្ឌពិភពលោក បានចេញសេចក្តីថ្លែងការណ៍រួមគ្នាមួយ ដោយថ្កោលទោសពួកជ្រុលនិយមថៃមួយក្រុម ដែលបាននាំគ្នាធ្វើបាតុកម្មនៅខាងក្រៅបរិវេណការិយាល័យអង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិប្រចាំនៅទីក្រុងបាងកក និងមួយក្រុមធំទៀត បាននាំគ្នាយកព្រះពុទ្ធបដិមាទៅដាក់នៅលើកំពូលភ្នំទ្រព្យ ដោយចូលជ្រៅទៅក្នុងតំបន់ហាមឃាត់មិនឱ្យមានកងទ័ពបណ្តោះអាសន្ន នៃតំបន់ជម្លោះព្រំដែនជិតប្រាសាទព្រះវិហាររបស់ខ្មែរនោះ៕

Also the Cambodian government should make a formal request to the
Court to send Court observers to
verify on the grounds.
This is again a reminder we Khmers
must be strong and ready to fight off
the invaders, may they be Siams or
Viets.

Thailand is using its military superiority to gain territory from Cambodia, encroaching by force. Thailand only lie low after the ICJ order its troops to withdraw from the demilitarized zone. Now that everything is quiet, Thailand is at it again, trying to pick a fight. Cambodian should not tolerate this Thai violation, Cambodian soldiers must repel Thai troops and lodge a protest with the ICJ or the UN.
