P888 seat sale for Manila-Siem Reap flights

MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Pacific is starting direct flights to Siem Reap, Cambodia in April, making the world-famous Angkor Wat more accessible to Filipino tourists.

Cebu Pacific will have its first Manila-Siem Reap flight on April 19, 2012. It will be a thrice a week service.

"Adventurous backpackers usually travel by land from Ho Chi Minh or Bangkok to Siem Reap, just so they can visit Angkor Wat, part of the Angkor World Heritage site. Now, Cebu Pacific can fly them to Siem Reap on its trademark lowest fares,” said Cebu Pacific VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

Siem Reap is considered the gateway to the Angkor Wat temple complex, located only 5.5 kilometers away. The Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is said to be the world's largest single religious monument.

Cebu Pacific will be the only airline operating flights between the Philippines and Cambodia.

To mark the launch, the budget airline is holding a P888 seat sale for flights between Manila and Siem Reap from January 27 to 29. These are for travel from April 19 to May 31, 2012.

Flights are scheduled to depart Manila at 7:50 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, arriving in Siem Reap at 9:30pm. Return flights will leave Siem Reap at 10:30pm on the same days, and arrive in Manila at 2:10 a.m. the next day.

Last December, the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) approved direct flights from the Philippines to Cambodia. Aside from Cebu Pacific, Zest Air received frequencies for the Manila-Cambodia route, while Airphil Express and AirAsia Philippines received frequencies for the Clark-Cambodia route.

At the same time, Cebu Pacific is also holding a seat sale for selected local and international flights from January 27 to 29. These flights are for travel from March 1 to May 31, 2012.

Seats are just P288 for flights from Manila to Cauayan or Naga, and from Cebu to Kalibo, Bacolod, Butuan, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Legazpi, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Surigao or Tacloban. The same fare is available from Davao to Zamboanga, from Cagayan de Oro to Iloilo, and from Zamboanga to Tawi-Tawi.

There are P488 seats available from Manila to Cebu or Iloilo, and from Cebu to Clark or Puerto Princesa.

P888 seats are also available from Manila to Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, General Santos, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Surigao or Zamboanga.

Travellers from Manila to Xiamen, from Clark to Bangkok, or from Kalibo to Hong Kong can also avail of P888 seats. Cebu Pacific is set to launch Manila-Xiamen and Kalibo-Hong Kong flights on March 23.

International seats are also available for P1,088 (from Manila to Brunei, Macau or Ho Chi Minh) and P1,488 (from Manila to Bangkok or Hanoi).

Late arrival to cambodia means more money for taxi services and higher prices for guess houses and hotels.
