The Diamond Island Bridge, where 353 people lost their lives in a stampede during Cambodia’s Water Festival in November last year, will be taken apart and removed within two months, a worker said yesterday.
The man, who did not want to be named, is part of a group from Workers from Asian Construction Corporation Company that has been clearing cement from the bridge’s poles in recent days in preparation to take them out.
The bridge could be gone within a month, but it was more likely that it would take two months to take it down, he said.

I don't know, if it's a good or bad idea to keep this bridge as a symbol of tragedy for attracting tourists or visitors who wants to see it, like the one at S21 prison.
I'm sorry to say such thing.
There is already a monument decicated to the victims placed near the entrance of the bridge to remind people of this trajedy. There is no need to keep that bridge. The government is doing the right thing by disassemble it. There is very little or no gain of tourism from this trajedy. The gain is not worth the price of the pain and anger for the families' victims for the neglect of the authority. Some thing very simple could have been prevented. When there are so people at one time on that flimsy bridge, something will give. The authority could have known that, but instead they chose not to see the simplest thing. They're being very naive and careless about the situation. The outcome was 353 lives parish. This is pathetic.
3:56 AM, Thank you very much for your kindness, I appreciated for your explanation.
