"Stop using the term Yuon if some people find it offensive.": "Khmer blog"

'Khmer blog' said:

'Stop using the term Yuon if some people find it offensive, even if you do not believe it's an offensive term. Personally, I don't think it's a racist term, but somehow it has become one. So it's best not to use the term to avoid offending Khmer Krom, Vietnamese Cambodians and Vietnamese. There is no place for racism.'

Language can be more than a means of daily communication among the citizenry; it can be seized upon or manipulated by the state as an ideological device in its communication with its own oppressed population, in the re-enforcement and implementation of its agenda, in addition to mirroring the weaknesses or strengths in the fluid, dynamic, and often, repressed context of its existing power relations via a vis other states - School of Vice [Image: xinhua]

Ref: ‘Yuon’, Vietnamese, political correctness and the failure to research?

Bun Thoeun:

There was a horrible story behind the word Yuon.

The Vietnamese used to use Khmer heads to cook their tea. You see how cruel these evil Vietnamese are?

This pain caused by Yuon has been always in every Khmer head: "Kbal Khmer Yuon Dam Ter Ong"

Therefore, in order to make Khmer people forgetting their cruelty, the Vietnamese don't want Khmer people to call them Yuon anymore.

When there is the word Yuon, the " Kbal Khmer Yuon Dam Ter Ong" comes up automatically afterward.

And as a Khmer I have to call this evil Vietnamese: Yuon. It is absolutely not offensive. If Yuon is offensive, then Chen must be offensive too.

Besides, Khmer called Vietnamese, Yuon.
Chinese, Chen
Indian, Kleung.
Frenh, Barang, etc...

If we change from Yuon to Vietnamese, Khmer people have to change a lot in their language. No way !!

Stop your asshole Vietnamization over Cambodia. Khmer people have had enough of you.

Yuons are traditional enemies of the Khmer people for almost the last 200 years.
If the term or word YUON offend them, that is the least we can counter the evil Yuon.
" A good Yuon is a dead Yuon !!! "
