CNRP urges unity in New Year’s messages

Opposition leaders yesterday took to social media to call for peace and unity in 2016 after months of rough and tumble politics, with acting Cambodia National Rescue Party president Kem Sokha suggesting parties should meet in the new year to clear the air.
In separate New Year’s messages on Facebook, Cambodia National Rescue Party leader Sam Rainsy and Sokha beseeched political party leaders of all stripes to focus on the nation’s interests in 2016.
“On this occasion, I would like all Khmer politicians to stop the rancour, revenge, threats, intimidation,” Sokha said, in a video clip posted to Facebook.
“I hope the New Year of 2016 brings harmony, peace, national unity, national reconciliation and more trust between Khmer and Khmer.”
Rainsy, who remains in self-imposed exile to avoid prison on seemingly politically motivated charges, also called for unity from all in politics.
Cambodian People’s Party spokesman Sous Yara welcomed the calls for harmony, though warned the CNRP not to point fingers and dwell on the past.

Here we go again cnrp! I just wonder how long it is going to last this time round before Cpp will dawn on you again?.It seems to me that Sam rainsy and Khem Sokha don't have sufficient and needed political skills . Slick political operators must do whatever necessary to stay on course not derail their objectives. May be NCRP doesn't have objectives. That's why NCRP is in the limbo now,a main opposition political party without the leader at the helm.
Rein in your die hard supporters who ever they are because demonizing cpp is over ever since you decided to join the national assembly. How can you demonize CPP when you know they are already the demons. I think CNRp will be destroyed not by cpp,but by its own incompetence. Samrainsy and Cnrp clans said that hun hen can never change ,but the question is what about you? can you change your party and keep it in one piece and strong for the next election?. Sam rainsy and his deputy are old politics. They should go but the question is, who are going to replace them? So far I haven't seen anyone who has what it takes to replace them or else they have to change their strategies fast, but without someone who the sufficient political skills on the ground to oversee the changes necessary to move forward , I think it is a mission impossible.
same old story.. same old result...
CNRP or any party opposing CPP needs to recruit someone who can lead , has great ideas to rebuild the country and has charisma and fire in him or her to rally people for the common good of the country..i have yet to hear any new proposal coming from those 2 so-called leaders..they keep doing the same thing again and again and hoping to get different result... and that is the definition of stupidity.
