Pestech starts engineering works in Cambodia

KUALA LUMPUR: Pestech International Bhd's subsidiary, Pestech (Cambodia) Ltd, has executed an agreement for US 86.1 million with Cambodia's Alex Corp Co Ltd for engineering works in that country.

The project involves designing, engineering, manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning for the 230 kilovolt (KV) West Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Transmission Line and 230/115/22 KV sub-station extension.

The project is expected to startn in three months from the date of the contract signing and is expected to be completed in 32 months, Pestech International said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.

The group said the project mainly entails the construction of a transmission line of about 198 kilometres, which will be responsible for the power transmission from existing and future power plants in the Sihanoukville area to Phnom Penh City.

"This is done through upgrading of the existing sub-station at Stung Hav, with two 230KV outgoing transmission line bays and connecting them to the West Phnom Penh sub-station in Phnom Penh through the new transmission line to be built under the project," the company said.

Pestech International said the contract would have no material effect to the group's revenue and earnings for the financial year ending December 31, 2014, but is expected to contribute to future earnings and net assets per share.-- Bernama
