WHO IS SAMNANG?
Samnang is a Cambodian sweatshop worker in a life or death condition in hospital, after being shot by military police in the government crackdown on January 3. A bullet entered his lower stomach at the front, and exited his lower back- slicing his intestines into four places.
Samnang is a sweatshop worker, and also works as a tuk-tuk driver at night, to try to support his wife and young baby. Cambodian sweatshop workers (who make clothes for Gap, H&M, Levis and other global brands) have been protesting to increase their minimum wage to $160 a month as they simply can't survive on their current earnings of $80 a month, less than $3 a day.
WHY WAS HE SHOT?
Samnang was shot when he returned home after peacefully protesting on January 3. Watch this video and hear his story directly from him - he wasn't being violent and doesn't even know how he got shot. He is now in a life or death condition in hospital, as the bullet entered his lower stomach at the front, and exited his lower back- slicing his intestines into four places.
WHAT URGENT HELP DOES HE NEED?
Samnang needs two operations. An independent doctor says "The operation on his intestines is very expensive, up to $6000, then the post-operation care will cost another $500 to $1000." Samnang will also not be able to work for some time, so will need help to support his wife and baby while he recovers- so we're aiming to raise $7500 minimum but any donations above this will help his family immensely.
Should -in the worst case scenario- we can't raise the full amount in time, or if Samnang doesn't pull through - any amounts raised will be given to his wife to help her and the baby.
I am an independent Australian filmmaker, writer and World Economic Forum Young Global Leader 2013-2018. I do not belong to a political party, and raise funds for Samnang in the name only of humanitarian aid, and the universal declaration of human rights. I visited the hospital to see for myself what had happened, and took these photos and video of Samnang and the other victims to show the world and ask for your help, to save his life.
I'll set up more fundraisers soon to raise support for other victims in critical condition - but Samnang is particularly urgent so wanted to tell you his story and ask for your immediate help without delay.
If he does not get care right now, it is certain death for Samnang. He does not have any financial help. No NGOs or the Cambodian government are fundraising or helping his care. That's why this is so important, to ask for your help.
There's lots more I want to do to work more on this video and information for you - so will add more soon- but it's so extremely urgent that it is most important to post this immediately onto the web so you can help save Samnang's life- and help his wife and young baby who are devastated, heartbroken and scared for the future.
I am in Phnom Penh, and will directly and personally give 100% of the proceeds to Samnang and his family. I will film this too, and record his thanks to you - and put it on the web for the world to see.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and -in advance- from Samnang, his wife and baby.

I expect the Khmer Americans to help this poor victims. All you have to do is cut back some of your luxury spending. For example, one of you, instead of driving a $30,000 dollars car, drive a $20,000 dollar car.

P.S. One time, I joined an Asian single club. All the Asian dudes were driving Lexus, Mercedes, BMW worth 30 to 50k US dollars. My car was worth about $2,000, less than the set of their car wheels.
But I easily charmed one third of the ladies in the clubs, including the most popular ones.
I have a superior physics and mind. I do need a fancy car to charm the women. Only inferior men would need expensive cars to compensate.
