The Cambodian Center for Human Rights has launched
a map of garment factories in Cambodia. The map provides details of
each factory including location, nationality of the owner, and number of
employees. There are at least 558 garment factories in Cambodia which
produce and supply garments to major international brands such as
Adidas, Calvin Klein, Clarks, H&M, Levi’s, Macy’s, Nike, Old Navy,
Puma, Reebok, The Gap, WalMart, and others. The map project
aims to provide greater transparency regarding the ownership and supply
chains of garment factories in light of rising protests about working conditions in these factories.
