PHNOM PENH, 10 September 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - The National Bank of
Cambodia has approved an application by Taiwan Cooperative Bank to open a
branch in Phnom Penh, China News Agency reported.
The report on Saturday said the new branch was expected to open within six months offering deposit, lending and foreign exchange services.
"The branch will target not only Taiwanese businessmen but also local residents and enterprises," the report said.
CNA noted that the Taiwanese bank had opened branches in the Chinese city of Suzhou as well as Sydney over the past two years. It also has a presence in Hong Kong, Beijing, Tianjin as well as Manila, Seattle, Los Angeles and Brussels.
