PHNOM PENH, 5th September 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - The Anti-Corruption
Unit has sent the editor in chief of Ponlieu Samaky [The Light of Unity] newspaper to Phnom
Penh Municipal Court after he was charged with defamation, sources
said.
The sources said Hong Chamrouern, a 47-year-old resident of Samrorn Tong district in Kampong Speu province, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of faking photos and documents.
In 2011, sources said Hong Chamrouern filed a complaint against judges and senior officials from the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Information, and later insulted them in his newspaper.
Ponlieu Samaky was registered with the Ministry of Information in 2005 but is rarely published.
