PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - The Ministry of
National Defense has started training 5,000 soldiers to prepare for this
year's floods, officials said.
Training took place Wednesday in Kien Klang village in Prek Leap commune in Russey Keo district.
Brigadier Ma Phirom said the training is focusing on helping victims in danger of drowning and island residents.
He said the ministry used 25 boats, tents, food, water, latrines, doctors, seven ambulances and 23 other vehicles for the exercise.
