PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Japan signed an agreement Thursday granting 7.2 billion yen ($86 million) to improve the water supply in Siem Reap.
Ambassador Masafumi Kuroki said Japan's second water project in Siem Reap would extract water from the Tonle Sap Lake rather than the water table to avoid affecting temples.
The project involves 217 kilometers of pipes and will be able to provide 60,000 cubic meters of water a day, he said.
