Cambodia Rejects Joint Management of the 4.6 Square Kilometer Area

AKP Phnom Penh, March 14, 2012 –The Cambodian spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Kuy Kuong this morning rejected joint management by Cambodia and Thailand of the 4.6 square kilometer area near the Khmer sacred Preah Vihear Temple raised by former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

“We have already submitted this issue to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), therefore if the ICJ says it belongs to Cambodia, why do we have to have the joint management?,” he asked.

“If it belongs to us, we can not manage the area with others,” he stressed.

This reaction was made following Thaksin Shinawatra’s recent statement over the joint management of the 4.6 square kilometer area quoted by the Bangkok Post.

In recent days, Thailand has been sending out mixed messages about Preah Vihear issues again. It seemed like they're employing their old dirty trick of using the Preah Vihear issue to gain domestic political support.

Lets hope my fear would not eventuated, but given Thailand's past actions, the least Cambodia could do is be prepare for another round of clashes.

We must rely on the ICJ.
No deals with the Siems outside the Court.
Just like the Viets, the Siems want OUR lands.

Cambodia should never agree to a joint management of Preah Vihear with Thailand. Let the ICJ judge the case so it will be decided once and for all.
Also Cambodia should never agree to re-adjust the demilitarized zone as requested by Thailand. The ICJ drawn the demilitarized zone, so let it stay that way. Thailand wants to play a game with Cambodia again, prolong the case or try to deceive Cambodia because Thailand knows that it will lose the court case.

While we worry about Preah Vihear being taken by the Siem thieves, CPP has just signed away more border treaties to the Vietnamese!!!

Wake up DUMB Khmer!! Look at what CPP is doing, signing border treaties??

Khmer encroaching the Vietnamese province, or Vietnam encroaching our land, and legalizing our lands to the Vietnamese!!

Please stop asking again and again the same question for the joint management of something, that not belongs to you.
One year old Khmer baby was able understand this stupid Thai trick, what Thailand has in mind.
