Senate Starts Constructing Three Buildings Under China’s Assistance
AKP Phnom Penh, December 28, 2011 –Samdech Akka Moha Thamma Pothisal Chea Sim (pictured), President of the Senate, presided over here yesterday the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of three new office buildings and the rehabilitation of two old buildings under China’s assistance of US$7,700,000.
H.E. Pan Guangxue, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia was also present at the event.
H.E. Um Sarith, Secretary General of the Senate said it is the tenth time that China provided assistance to the Cambodian Senate since its establishment in 1999.
The People’s Republic of China is the first friend who has always responded to the need of the Cambodian Senate appealed by Samdech Chea Sim, he said.
H.E. Pan Guangxue said the assistance reflected the close relationship and cooperation between the Chinese and Cambodian legislative bodies.
