An Australian financed road is due to be opened in Cambodia's Pailin Province.
Australian Ambassador Margaret Adamson says the road demonstrates the importance of small-scale infrastructure to the lives of rural people.
She says it will reduce transport times, improve access for farmers to markets and improve access of more than 7,000 people to nine primary schools, two secondary schools, two health centres and nine pagodas.
Ms Adamson will formally open the 29-kilometre road with Pailin's Governor H.E. Y Chhien.
The road rehabilitation cost approximately $US600,000 and is part of a $US4.7 million Australian government-funded Integrated Rural Development and Disaster Mitigation Project, implemented by CARE.
