PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Lawmakers from opposition party are to cooperate with their colleagues from the Cambodian People's Party to draft a new law to protect rights of tenants, according to Sam Rainsy, president of Cambodia National Rescue Party.
"We should have to protect tenants' rights," he posted Thursday on his Facebook page.
"I have asked lawmakers from the CNRP to cooperate with their colleagues from the CPP to prepare a new law to protect tenants’ rights."
"In particular, we must prevent landlords from arbitrarily raising rents and unexpectedly and unfairly changing lease terms," he said.
