PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Phnom Penh Municipal Court and Ministry of Public Affairs put the second Chroy Changvar bridge into operation on Saturday.
"This new Chroy Changvar bridge has been temporarily opened for traffic since 6:00 a.m today [Saturday]," said traffic police in charge of traffic on the bridge, adding that “We haven't yet known when the bridge will be inaugurated,”.
The bridge is opened for the celebration of upcoming Water Festival, which will be held on 5th, 6th and 7th this month.
The US$ 27.5 million bridge constructed by a Chinese company under the loan of the Chinese government had been opened once for traffic during Pchum Ben Festival last month.
