Cambodia and Belarus have agreed to undertake collaboration in defence technologies, a move that is indicative of the Southeast Asian country's efforts to expand links with potential military suppliers.
A statement by the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence (MND) on 7 July said that the accord with Belarus will cover military-technical co-operation, activity geared primarily towards providing support for Soviet-era materiel in Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) inventories.
The MND said the Cambodia-Belarus agreement could expand into further areas of defence industrial co-operation in the future, but did not elaborate. This is a likely reference to potential collaboration related to any future sales of Belarus-made equipment, such as ammunition and small arms.

It's a good agreements. Cambodia needs to be able to produce it's own amunitions and weapons. During military clashes with Siam she had problems from beginning. Fighting at Preah Vihear temple there were many DK-82 and RPG rockets failed to explode when they shot at Siam rangers. It's would had been causing a lots more causalties to Siam attacking forces. Cambodia had to ask PRC for urgent supplies of many rounds of ammunitions putting PRC in a very ackward positions. Belarus supprisingly had been reliable friend. Cambodia still used heavily Soviet era weaponarys. These Soviet weapons still very effective with experienced troops despise considered obsoleted. Many Siam soldiers will tell you that it's still put fear in them. If only we can secured eastern and northern borders. Phnom Penh is low land and only take about 3 hours from Vietnam. Phnom Penh is very vernable to Vietnamese invasions from eastern & northern provinces. Cambodia needed new loyal Cambodian leaderships.A permanent welled build defensible trenches must be dig and guards by a real professional trained welled equiped Cambodian military personals along northern & eastern borders at critical points.
