PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) – Owners of a clinic and coffee shop on Veng Sreng street, where the violent clash took place, filed complaints against protesters for damaging their property.
Dr. Lim Mesa, owner of Independent Clinic, filed the complaint with police on January 5, two days after the deadly crash between the striking workers and police, leaving five people dead, some 37 injured.
He claimed that the damage was over USD 2 millions.
He said that his clinic was closed since Jan. 2 because the protesters blocked road in front of his clinic.
He added after the clash on Jan. 3, the clinic didn’t dare to provide treatment service for the workers and then they damaged the property of the clinic.
Tang Heav, owner of coffee shop, also filed a complaint on Jan. 5 against the protesters who damaged the property in his shop.
He said hundreds of protesters damaged a generator, an air conditioner, 20 coffee tables, Television set, fans, refrigerator, and 80 kilogram of raw coffee, and some other equipments.
The two victims appealed to authorities to capture those who provoked the deadly and destructive clashes and to be held responsible for the damage.

Those protesters started first, authorities oblige to stop the mob. Clinic is not red cross or public hospital.
