CCHR monitoring update - march for Yorm Bopha Dear all, Today marks one year since land rights activist Yorm Bopha from Boeung Kak was detained. This morning (4 September 2013), a team from CCHR is monitoring the rally of the Boeung Kak community activists who plan to carry out a peaceful march from their own community to Wat Phnom to pray for Yorm Bopha and then to continue walking to the Supreme Court, to call on the court to hear her case. Initially the authorities prevented the community members from leaving their neighborhood this morning. When they were eventually permitted to leave, they were told that they could not take their campaign materials like T-shirts, banners and stickers, with them. CCHR was asked by the community representatives to transport the materials on their behalf. As a result the police have now stopped our car and are not letting us out.
