BEIJING, April 23, (ChinaMil) --- Chang Wanquan, state councilor and minister of national defense of the People's Republic of China (PRC), met with Tea Banh, deputy prime minister and minister for national defense of Cambodia, on April 22, 2013 in Beijing.
Chang Wanquan first expressed his gratitude to Cambodia for its valuable support to China in international and regional affairs. He said that in recent years, top leaders of the two countries have made frequent reciprocal visits and achieved fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation in such fields as politics, economy, military, security and culture.
The Chinese and Cambodian militaries have carried out fruitful pragmatic cooperation in such fields as high-level reciprocal visits, academic education, personnel training and logistic equipment, and maintained good communication and coordination in regional multilateral security cooperation mechanism, playing a positive role in promoting the development of the relations between the two countries and maintaining regional peace and stability.
Tea Banh first expressed his concern over and sympathy for the earthquake disaster in the southwest China's Sichuan province. He said that China's assistance and support to Cambodia have effectively enhanced the development of Cambodia's economy, society and national defense, for which the Cambodian side is sincerely grateful. It is hoped that the two sides will further deepen bilateral cooperation on such issues as regional security, so as to constantly push forward Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new high.
