Cambodian Center for Human Rights to host Roundtable
Discussion on “Freedom of Expression on the Internet”
On 27 February 2013, the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (“CCHR”) will
host a Roundtable Discussion on “Freedom of Expression on the Internet” aimed
at providing a platform to bloggers and
those who work in new media to openly discuss trend of the internet usage and challenges
to their free expression that they have faced within the context of their work.
Approximately 30 participants will
attend the event.
The Roundtable will be carried out as part of CCHR’s Cambodian
Freedom of Expression Project, generously supported by the European Union,
which aims to contribute to legislative, structural and policy changes to
improve the overall situation of freedom of expression in Cambodia.
Following the Roundtable Discussion, the issues raised and the
recommendations of participants will be incorporated into a policy brief and
sent to relevant ministries and government institutions, in order to seek their
feedback and to encourage constructive dialogue.
