Cambodian sailors who allegedly suffered
at the hands of a Russian property tycoon, Sergei Polonsky, and his two
friends have withdrawn their complaints, one of Polonsky’s lawyers has
reported on the conditions of anonymity.
He said all alleged victims had dropped charges against the three Russians, who were accused of assault and illegal detention.
The
reconciliation came after the sailors were offered a cash compensation.
The source didn’t share his outlook for the future of the accused but
added “it will be easier for the court to act ” now that the seamen
reconsidered their move and agreed for a refund.
