PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) - The Sam Rainsy Party Youth Movement paid tribute Thursday to the 353 people who died on Diamond Island Bridge during a stampede two years ago.
The commemoration ceremony was also attended by the families of victims. Sources said that hundreds of arm forces were deployed around a memorial stupa and that some streets were temporarily blocked.
The stampede occurred on third day of the annual Water Festival in 2010 and left 400 injured. The bridge was later dismantled.
