PHNOM PENH 18 November 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Hotel Cambodiana has closed its elevator
for VIP guests after one of Myanmar President Thein Sein's security
guards got stuck in it for 10 minutes, Burmese sources said Sunday.
The sources quoted the security guard as saying that the incident occurred on Saturday night and that he had to phone outside to alert the hotel staff.
Following the incident, signs saying "under maintenance" appeared outside the elevator doors.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had to use another elevator when he arrived at the hotel on Sunday evening, the sources said. The hotel has three elevators for guests.
