A French chef goes native in Cambodia to sample the rich and eclectic flavours of the Khmer cuisine.
This is more than a food enthusiast's roadshow - and yes we are treated to some of Cambodia's famous and exotic dishes like deep-fried tarantulas and stir-fried sea crabs with green Kampot pepper corns, not to mention Angkor beer! - and a French food connoisseur to boot, however, as the natural charm and beauty of rural life and its subsistence led simplicity is respectfully and subtly captured by a cameraman schooled in France's re-known art-house cinematography. The documentary is about 50 minutes long, but is well worth the time spent watching, and if like me you happen not to understand a word of French, don't let that put you off, just grab a boat and let yourself go . . .
NB: Best viewed on youtube in large screen format. Bon appetit . .
