PHNOM PENH, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said on Sunday China is willing to step up its friendly cooperation with Cambodia, and promote bilateral ties to new levels.
He made the remarks while meeting with Cambodian Queen Mother Norodom Monineath and her son, King Norodom Sihamoni, in the nation's capital.
The Chinese premier also stood in silent tribute before the coffin of late former Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk.
Wen arrived in Phnom Penh on Sunday afternoon to attend a series of meetings for East Asian leaders and pay an official visit to Cambodia.
The Cambodian royal family has always been committed to boosting the friendship between China and Cambodia, and has made important contribution to the development of bilateral ties, said Wen.

He said the Chinese people will never forget the former King Sihanouk's extraordinary contributions to China-Cambodia ties, adding that China and Cambodia are friends and partners that respect and trust each other, and treat each other as equals.
Queen Mother Monineath and King Sihamoni said Cambodia will continue to make contributions to further promoting the friendship between the two countries.
