Prime Minister Hun Sen heads to Beijing
PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - King Norodom Sihamoni and Prime Minister Hun Sen left for Beijing Monday to receive the body of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk, a government official said.

The official, who asked not to be named, also said that Hun Sen had cancelled a visit to Ho Chi Minh City later this week for a two-day summit with Lao and Vietnamese leaders.

The government has ordered national flags to be flown at half mast, the official said.

The Council of Ministers meanwhile announced that the 89-year-old former king died "naturally" at a Beijing hospital at 1:20 AM.

The government will organize a state funeral at the Royal Palace, the Council of Ministers said.

The summit that Hun Sen was to attend with Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh on Friday and Saturday is to discuss a development triangle area between northeastern Cambodia, southern Laos and the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
