PHNOM PENH, 24 September 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - The Sam Rainsy Party reiterated Monday
its threat to join forces with the Human Rights Party in boycotting next
years's national elections.
"The two parties will refuse to join next year’s election if the National Election Committee is not reformed," spokesman Yim Sovann (pictured) told Cambodia Express News, an affiliate of The Cambodia Herald. "There's no use for an election led by the same person."
He said opposition parties are seeking to meet ruling party leaders to discuss NEC reform after failing to get the Ministry of Interior to consider the demand.
