In Vietnam, The Hanoi Government and the north Vietnamese people always
look down on the south Vietnamese and never want to engage or have
close relationship with the south Vietnamese.
How about the poorer races like Cambodian or Laotian? They will look down on them more.
- In China, even though China now has strong economy but their people are still poor and some still live under the poverty line.
Why do Chinese treat Cambodians better than their own Chinese? (Don't forget! The Chinese concepts are based on networking)?
The factors that cause China to focus on Cambodia as the strong partner are as follows:

Cambodia is small and strongly need China to protect Cambodian
sovereignty from two thieves, Vietnamese and Thais (and, maybe Laotians
in the future).
- Cambodia has both geographical and economic points to maintain/sustain the influence of Chinese in South East Asia.
- China has planed to build a Hong Kong model city in Koh Kong province.

Now, there are probably three areas that the world economy center will
be, such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, or Singapore. Probably, Singapore might
win.
However, in order to reach Singaporean strong economic hub, China need trustful allies. Now, Cambodia is a good example.
In
the end, China would not worry about the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Later on, China will dominate them very easily both in economy and in
politics.
If Chinese goal has all accomplished, is there any obstacle for China to get the Spratleys Islands?
No matter what, don't trust the Chinese and Vietnamese. As a routine, in
order to get to the top, they have tried both bad/good ways to reach it.
We Khmer have a saying, "Char-en Kbal Si Kbal, Char-en Kontouy Si Kontouy", (When the head is cooked, they eat the head. When the tail is cooked, they eat the tail) - meaning a person with "a flip-flopping personality without any principle".

Yuon more evil than Chen,Chen will give up their culture way of life to lives with khmers'woman or guy and respect khmers tradition after just a generation. Yuon has a mind of elimination and conqure land kill off the original people for their comrades. Yuons were evils....
Oh well, in the end, Thai gets 1/3rd from provinces they lost to Franco-Thai war, Chen gets 1/3rd Middle from Koh Kong and Kampot to Preah Vihear and Youns get 1/3rd East side.

Please don't misuse the word Chen with the word China. We should know the different between Chen and China or Chinese people. We also have to see the different between politics and business.
Chen use by our Khmer laguage and Chen is one of the many ethnics or minorities of the general Khmer or Cambodian people. They are more or less patriotic like the real Khmer and they are not Chinese people.
China in our mind is not dangerous and will not overdraw Cambodia, because China is too far away. China and Cambodia are also too loyal to each other and we could say a really best friend for good and bad time.
But Viet and Thai are very near, have borders common with us and they were or are always not our best friends. They already took so many parts of our country and treated our Khmer people very bad. They prohibit our Khmer people to speak and learn our Khmer mother language. The reason, why most of the young generation of the Khmer descent in Thailand are not able to understand, speak, read and write well our Khmer language.

That is very long debating about which country is Cambodia needs to be sided with it. But first thing is first, we must have a new government reform definitely in next year 2013 and, under a good leadership who gets all caught up with the current crisis that Khmer have ever had til today never end. About Chen if the Khmer of future in leadership has no option available beside the western and European countries, we would rather have Chen be a Cambodia Boss much better than A Youn, This is my opinion since Chen they love to have Khmer as their ally in the Asia very badly than Youn even they are a communist. Under the Chinese Khmer are and will be always Khmer and our country will be alway with the name Cambodia.
But under the Viet, Khmer will be youn and the country will be a new name of Champa.

I agree with everything you say. Except, the Chen had hardly anything to do with Pol Pot. If anything the Chen was trying to help the Khmer from the Youn invasion. And it was also the Americans who killed over 500 000 Khmer during the carpet bombing, and allowing the Youn to kill the Lon Nol government.
So it wasnt the Chinese, it was the Youn who had many roles in the genocide and in the aftermath after the Vietnamese invasion in 1979.
Chen and Youns join hands to domininate Khmers. Khmers are second class citizens, except for government officials. Chen and youns own all lands and businesses. They will hire Khmers to work as laborers and back breaking work and still poor. Don't even talk about annexation yet, it will happen or not happen, but a this rate with all the mixing from youns and chens, Khmer culture will vanish and they don't even know who they are, they only know if they are Youns or Chens. That's the future of Cambodia guys. There is no need to let Chens or Youns playing nice, who's better , who is worst. The long term is the same. There will be no more REAL Khmers, just FAKE Khmer offspring from mixed children. The REAL khmers will be marginalized, hold the least important positions in life, except for the corrupted government puppets at the top. In 15-20 years, the old pure Khmer generation will die, and the young generation will be clueless, don't know who they are, whom they belong to. At that time, go for Youns or Chens doesn't matter, the only thing that remains is Cambodia is no more. That's a big picture.
