PHNOM PENH, 24 September 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - The Cambodian Bar Association may expel exiled opposition leader Sam Rainsy (pictured), according to spokesman Yim Sary.
Speaking on Sunday, he said the association summoned Sam Rainsy to report to its council on October 9. The report concerns the final verdict of his appeal against his conviction for uprooting markers on the Vietnam border.
"The punishment relies on the council of the bar association," he said.
Sam Rainsy’s lawyer Choung Chou Ngy declined to comment, saying he had not received a letter from the association.
