The so-called Khmer Krom does not exist anywhere in historical record. There is no Khmer Krom people, no Khmer Krom land, and no Khmer Krom history. The term Khmer Krom was coined by Sihanouk in 1900’s in order to shamefully and illegally claim land that does not belong to Cambodia. A few overseas Cambodian terrorists concocted a fairytale story and attached it to the name hoping they would be able to fool the international community, but they only fooled themselves. Khmer Krom is a mere fabrication that will never stand up to the scrutiny of historical facts.

Who are you telling lie to yourself and your freaking kids or perhaps to your ancestors if you are a Khmer.What you're saying above is completely a fabrication by yourself. Sihanouk didn't shame Khmers Krom.

We have Khmers Krom, Khmers Kondal and Khmers Surin, all descendants of the Khmer Empire.You above don't say rubbish if you are too ignorant. Shame on you for saying rubbish without knowing the facts.

Please don't tell me that there was no such thing as the Khmer Empire!...you ignorant should Google the word "Khmer Empire" and read it for yourself.Or read about Cochin-China, a.k.a Kamuphea Krom.

Response to 11:11AM, please don't open your mouth if you're too ignorant to know the truth or facts about Khmers.Yuons were Chinese parasite or bandits who stole the Cham's land and Khmer's land.They killed all Cham men and assimilated women.

Yuon is just a name of the Viet people, Khmers who don't speak English don't know the word Viet.They knew the word Yiek Nam or Yiek Minh or Yiek Cong only. Most of all they knew the word "Yuon" which wasn't racist at all.

Khmer called Viet =Yuon and Thai=Siam and Chinese=Chin and Laos= Leov.That isn't racist at all......Stop making a big deal of this nonsense....It's just a freakin' name!!!!

11:11 AM, If you think Khmer Krom or Kampuchea Krom was Sihanouk's fabrication, do you think Sihanouk also fabricated archeological sites, language and culture in what we called Kampuchea Krom, like Chantaraingsey temple in Saigon which has the original name of Prey Nokor? Did Sihanouk also fabricate or create the people living in Kampuchea Krom who speak Khmer.

The land down from Saigon (Prey Nokor) to the Cambodian border would have been called "Cambodia" if the 18 provinces or so were not annexed by Vietnam. But because they were annexed by Vietnam, that's why they were called Kampuchea Krom instead. Vietnam did not exist 100 years ago. The country was called Annam or Dai Viet before then and this country only existed near Chinese border on the Gulf of Tonkin. The Dai Viet emperor invaded Champa, the Cham country, in around the 1600s and expanded south to annex Khmer provinces, known as Kampuchea Krom today, from around the 1600s to the 1900s.

If you think that Khmers stole Vietnamese land in Kampuchea Krom, just look at archeological evidences, the people and the culture of that area. Please read the history of Khmer Krom and Kampuchea Krom.

As I stated clearly, Khmer Krom history was fabricated, pure and simple. It does not exist in historical records. There are no archeological sites, no written historical record or evidence of any kind, there is no so-called Prey Nokor City, it is a made-up fictional name that has no historical association to any place. Khmer Krom is a made up fantasy perpetuated by a few overseas Cambodian as a means to achieve a perverted political objective. Many foreign scholars, historians, academia agreed with Vietnam that Ho Chi Minh city (formerly known as Saigon) and the surrounding area were covered with jungle and the land was sparsely populated with only a few different ethnic tribes when the Vietnamese migrated to the area in the early 1600s. It was the Vietnamese who developed and cultivated the land and turned it into one of the most productive and the biggest rice bowl in the world. The Khmer that migrated to Vietnam either to look for a better life or to escape from war and famine was generously welcomed by the Vietnamese. Today they formed one of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam, they considered themselves Vietnamese.

5:13 PM, Khmer did not migrate to Kampuchea Krom. They were the original inhabitants and the Vietnamese invaded the area from around 1600s to 1900s and made them a minority group.

There are many archeological sites in Kampuchea Krom, like Oc Eo or O'Keo which dated back to 1st to 7the century and there were many Khmer temples which were built in the area as early as the 5th century, which still exist today.

The Viet also invaded Champa, which was located in central Vietnam, in around the 1600s. So Kampuchea Krom, which was located in south Vietnam, was definitely not originally inhabited by the Viet.

The general did not stop intervening in the wars that broke out in Cambodia , by siding with the princes who came to him, against those who were directed to Siam , and each time, to pay his intervention, annexed one or two districts in Cambodia .

It means that wherever the Khmer Empire extended to, there are Khmer living there and hence they belonged to and owned that part of the territory. This include the Khmer Krom people who lived in southern Vietnam today. Khmer Krom has lived in Kampuchea Krom since the 1st century or during the Khmer Empire since the 12th century, therefore they owned that part of the territory. The Vietnamese only invaded the area in the 1600s and only succeeded in taking full control of the area in the 1900s, on 6th June 1949 to be exact.
We Khmer or Khmer Krom did not fabricate the Khmer Krom or Kampuchea Krom history. It was the Vietnamese people and the Vietnamese governments who fabricated the Khmer Krom and Kampuchea Krom history, lying to the world in order to ligitimize their occupation and annexation of the region.
