PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - More than 150 Vietnamese companies plan to exhibit their goods and services at a five-day expo at the Mondial Center later this month, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported Tuesday.
The report said the Ho Chi Minh City Expo 2012 between March 28 and April was being organized by the the city's Investment and Trade Promotional Centre (ITPC).
Support is being provided by the Vietnamese Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, it said.
Nguyen Thi Hong, deputy chairwoman of the People's Committee, was quoted as saying that the expo was one of the city's key-trade-promotion programs in Cambodia for the 2010-15 period.
"The programs aim to broaden the market penetration of Vietnamese goods, develop distribution networks and promote Vietnamese brands in Cambodia," the report said.
During the expo, it said, the ITPC will organize market surveys of the financial, real estate, construction and retail sectors for Vietnamese companies seeking a better understanding of the Cambodian market.
Apart from 250 stalls, the event will highlight "economic, political and social achievements" of the two countries, VNA said. "The expo will also provide Cambodian and Vietnamese enterprises with opportunities to meet each other and explore the possibility of doing business together."

More Vietnamese business to take over our resources and our land, exploiting our people as slaves for cheap labour and our land because its free.
How many Cambodia companies are currently operating in Vietnam, excluding the uneducated Vietminh and his associates?
Seems like the Vietnamese sure likes the free ride coming for our free land and free resources.
