PHNOM PENH, (CEN)- The Phnom Penh Court sentenced on Tuesday Pheng Kunthea Borey (pictured), the former protocol chief of Senate President Chea Sim, to four years in prison for fraud.
The court also announced sentences for three of her associates, amounting to three years for Khieu Bora and four years each for Ponlork Ho and Chan Kosal.
A Malaysian man identified only as Dino was also sentenced to four years.
Only Pheng Kunthea Borey showed up at Tuesday's hearing. The case which involved fraudulent activities relating to a $500 million Malaysian investment. Pheng Kunthea Borey was arrested in Koh Kong on 28 September.
