A SEARCH is underway in the East China sea for the 1982-built, Cambodian-flag general cargo ship Captain Uskov which has disappeared on voyage between Nakhodka and Hong Kong with 17 crew on board and a cargo of steel coils.
Last contact with the ship was a radio message on 20 January since when there has been no further sign of the ship.
The Captain Uskov is owned by a St Kitts and Nevis company but is understood to be controlled by Russian interests and is managed by Sovetskaya Gavan-based company Hermes, according to the Equasis database.
