Oh my goodness, we don't even have our own people in the legal profession to articulate any complaint or appeal to the International Court of Justice and we have to hire foreign lawyers to represent of our interests? Where did all of our lawyers graduate from and what did they learn in law schools? Were any of the international law courses provided in law schools? I think we are in trouble.
On the contrary, the Thai play a very much smarter but deadly games on us, even in the reality they are the "Aggressor".
1. They were able to "manufacture" very convincing evidences under the circumstances involving the issues for their interests to the United Nation Security Council. A win for the Thais.
2. They used their own legal profession teams with expertise of international laws and articulated their arguments in their proficient English language to convince the body members. Another win for the Thais.
3. Now, after they have overwhelmingly reinforced their troops along the border, they have begun to influence and to invite the world community to their country to assess the minimal damages caused by our Cambodian soldiers to portray Cambodia as the perpetrator rather than the victim to the world community. Anther win for the Thai.
Even on the contrary, the Thais had caused much worse damages and devastation to our properties and to our people. And this is very dangerous for us, Cambodian.
And what do we anticipate for the resolution of the meeting in Indonesia tomorrow on Feb. 22, 2011? The Thais probably know the outcome already and we probably do too. I will not know the potential outcomes from this meeting tomorrow, but I will make a wild prediction that the ASEAN will encourage the two parties to continue talking, so the Thais can continue to destroy Cambodian properties, killing Cambodian people, and invading Cambodian's land. That is my prediction.

To the author: we have Khmer lawyers but it is important to get foreign lawyers because they are internationally well known and have more experiences than Khmer lawyers. In 1962, we hired French and American lawyers too, that's why we won. As far as I know Thailand at that time mainly hired Thai lawyers, not foreign lawyers, that's one of the reasons they lost because Thai lawyers were not as experienced as foreign lawyers. It is better to hire our own lawyers, but highly experienced foreign lawyers are more desirable because they are internationally well known and their expertise are world class and of international standard.

I don't see it is a big deal just to hired foreign or local lawyers... to have a good one, we should not limit ourselves to a small circle, we should look to a wider world that is why Cambodia end up choosing foreign lawyers I think.

Who signed the treaty 1979-1985 that result lost over 10 000 km2 of Cambodia??? Why don't they transparency inform all Cambodian and Cambodian army at front line about these issues? Why don't include Kos Trol (Kos Trol size is bigger than the whole Phom Phen and bigger than Singapoor with heap of great natural resources) in education system in Cambodia.
Look at Hun Sen families, relatives; friends are billionaires, millionaires where do they get the money from if we all just get out of war with empty hands? Hun Sen always say in his speech Cambodia just get up from war, just get up from Zero with empty hands and how come they are billionaires, millionaires but 90% innocent Cambodian people are so poor struggling with living every day.

Le faite que Le Cambodge paie Les avocats internationaux , c'est une bonne chose pour nous .Au moins , ce sont des professionnels , ils savent de quoi ils parlent .C'est plus tôt un bon point pour nous .
Tant mieux , si les thai utilisent les leur.Je ne vois pas , qu'ils marquent 1 point.
Sur l'histoire de la présence des étrangers sur le sol thailandais , ce n'est pas non plus un point pour eux .On pourra faire la même chose , si on croit que c'est nécessaire !
Pour la réunion en Indonésie du 22/02/11 , il n'y a pas l'avantage pour les thais non plus !à mon avis elle ne donne rien comme résultat.Ils vont dire comme d'habitude "Arrangez-vous entre vous , point " .
Le point fort pour nous , il y a la France , pays protecteur à l'époque et signataire du traité franco-siamois de 1907 qui peut nous faire gagner .
Aussi , on peut se baser sur l'accord de 1991 signé à Paris ( parrainé par l'ONU).
