U.S. Navy’s Band To Give Concerts in Cambodia from Tomorrow

AKP Phnom Penh, October 20, 2011 –With the support from the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, Amrita Performing, and Cambodian Living Arts, U.S. Navy’s Seventh Fleet Band will give several concert performances for the public, free of charge in Phnom Penh and Takeo province.

According to a press release of the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh issued today, the performances will begin tomorrow until Oct. 26 at different places and times.

The first concert will be held on Oct. 21 at Friendship Park in front of Wat Botum Watei at 7:00 p.m.; then on Oct. 23 at the Night Market at 7:00 p.m; on Oct. 24 at the Royal University of Fine Arts at 3:30 p.m; on Oct. 25 at Wat Koh High School at 3:30 p.m; and on Oct. 26, at Ang Soeng Pagoda, Chambak Commune, Bati District, Takeo at 7:00 p.m; the press release said.

The Seventh Fleet Band boasts talented Navy musicians who have toured internationally and performed for millions throughout the western Pacific.
The band has brought its special brand of American music to enthusiastic fans in Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and many other countries. The band plays and sings a diverse range of American music from pop to rhythm and blues and from country to rock-and-roll.
