Flood in Cambodia.BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- China will offer emergency humanitarian aid worth 50 million yuan (7.87 million U.S. dollars) to flood-ravaged Cambodia to help relief efforts, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said Monday.
The move shows the Chinese government's and people's friendship with the government and people of Cambodia, the MOC said in a brief statement on its website.
China will send the aid soon, it said.
Flooding on the Mekong River and flash floods have killed at least 207 people and affected about 1.2 million people in Cambodia, Nhim Vanda, first vice president of the National Committee for Disaster Management, said in a press briefing on Monday.

Floods in Cambodia causing human deaths, and hundreds of millions dollars of damage are not a novelty.
These floods have existed regularly during the season of rains since many decades. Today 17 provinces of the 24 provinces of the country are flooded.
One day may be all over Cambodia may be flooded by the waters of the Mekong and can cause damage on a scale much larger.
It seems from these pictures and news coming every day that nothing has been planned or implemented since the latest floods 12 years ago. The plan of struggle against the floods and rescue measures to minimizer the loss of human lives and destruction of their homes have not been planned.
Of course aid for the poor victims floods are always welcome. But it would be good to have a plan and measures of struggles against the regular flooding of the country by the waters of the Mekong River to avoid loss of human lives and destruction of buildings than to request all the time aid from foreign countries.
Because if we are able to find technical effective solutions against floods, we can export and sell our technical know-how, our subject matter expertise to other countries in the region or the world who face the same problem.
The last question here is a minister concerned by the problem must he resign? A politician is a responsible or not?

The problems with the floods in Cambodia as you have pointed out has caused millions of damages, an estimate of $100 millions.
So far, the ruling government has not made any appropriate actions to minimise the risks. For example, the sewage system in the Phnom Penh city is still the same as 20 years ago. Often in wet season, the city would be flood with sewage water.
So has the minister taken appropriate action?
The government are taking some actions by giving small amount of money to those who died, what about those who lost their home their land and their future? Are they in a better position then those who also lost their lands due to forced eviction? If we compare the situations of those who lost their home and land to flood and those who lost their home and land to forced home evictions, are we to say that Cambodia is better then 20 years ago?
Instead of taking the responsibilities and accept faults, the ruling government, made it clear that, it wasnt their fault but other countries fault and that they demand compensation. Is this the appropriate action coming from the Ruling Party?
Must the minister be accountable and resign, yes, as they have not taken the right measurement to minimise the damages, even after the damages they have yet to accept accountability.
Also yes, to the Ruling Party, CPP, must step down, as they have also failed to act as a responsible government for the interest of the nation. For 30 years, they continue to cripple the nation's progress so they can claim benifits from the world, yet continue to live in mansions and continue to expend their families assets. Did i also mentioned that the Hun Sen recently spend over $30 millions on a few helicopters even though human right violation increases every year?
Remove CPP we need a real democratic party.
