Z-9 helicopters are Hun Sen's tools of survival

Re: Z-9 helicopters are for protection of the leaders, not in defence of the country

Buying Z-9 helicopters is purely for personal use in case of emergency, in most cases we've seen many dictators do when their days are numbered and their fortified compounds were surrounded by angry civilians who want to get revenge, so these sorts of helicopters will critical for saving their lives .

These sorts of helicopters won't be able to defend Cambodia from the invasion of the enemy, but fighter jets, long range missiles, multi-rocket launchers, fighter tanks do and can defend the country from the invasion by the enemy.

Recently, a lot of dictators going down by their own people, if you're a dictator you've the reason to worry about it.

Hun Sen have been Cambodian leaders for a long time and if he is not a dictator, at least he made a lot of enemies amongst his own people. He had stepped on a lot of people's toes to get what he wanted and only God knows what is in the mind of his victims.

PM Hun Sen is probably monitoring the Libyan situation very closely, and probably regrets what he had done in the past. In the back of his mind, he probably thought about what if he was in the situation of the Libyan leader, what should he do to survive the revenge from the people?

History have proven in the past that Cambodian leaders, after falling from power got no where to hide, except Lon Nol who was sheltered by the U.S. Hun Sen is riding on the tiger's back, he can't get off in the risk of being eaten alive by then tiger, except to hang on to power.

The purchase of the Chinese helicopters is not a coincidence. They are Hun Sen's tools of survival or for transporting him and his family to safety and freedom. But where would he go when his day has come, or never will , or it is a matter of when, who knows.

When cambodia become prosper foreign country trying to destroy "cambodia" from inside/out... when cambodia is sinking into the bottom of deep, those people "destroyer" are good in running away from cambodia to hide out abroad...Cambodia suffering because of useless people from outsider...

I agree. Hun Sen bought the helicopters for his own protection, not to defend Cambodia. He never defended the country, only defended his powers.

How did you know? without these choppers, you think Hun Sen can not defense his power? Shut up, he is in power for more than 30 years from nothing.

Hey, 5:05AM, don't feel bad just because you couldn't escape. You think Keth Meng and a few others who play part in Cambodia development isn't the one who ran away and hide out abroad? He is one of many expatriat Cambodian who returned home to help rebuild the country. The progress you see in Cambodia has something to do with that too. Not to mention, millions of dollars are sent by Cambodians abroad to support their families which trickle down to supporting the economy in Cambodia. Look around before you making stupid comment.
