Let's get realistic about our life, as Cambodia.
Our country is the poorest nation in the region, if not in the world. For decades, we have depended on foreign aid, there are thousands of world organizations all over our country to assist and to feed our people on a daily basis, that they are not able to help themselves.
Our gov't and nation as a whole can not survive with foreign aid.
When you are poor, and need help, you must do what the givers are asking you to do.
Talking about flexing muscles with the Thais, we must be very careful of what we said, and what we wish for.
Thailand is a country that is most prosperous and wealthier in the region, their economy is comparable to Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea.
Their military defense systems were well established. They were equipped with the latest and sophisticated military equipments, most are purchased from the United States.
NOT A FEW OF THE MICKY MOUSE MILITARY TRUCKS THAT WERE DONATED BY THE CHINESE.
In summary, we Cambodians do not even have a stable government, no economy, the most corrupted government officials in the world, our government and people need assistance from someone else in every aspect of our daily life, we are unable to anything on our own. We are simply having very little or no education and poor.
How can you flex muscle with anybody?
Our government must come to a realization that this is the time, not tomorrow but NOW.
We must restructure our education, abolishing corruption, have a clear vision of our short and long term vision for our economy, reform of immigration laws, reform of our judicial system to a fair and justice for all, nurturing of our environment and our natural resources. The government must fully cooperate and support our agriculture workers; improvement of our infrastructures for our people and our health and services.
Our public education must have emphasis in science and maths. We must have our people educated.
We have SO many things to do, that only if we are capable of doing them, commitment to do them, and do them NOW, before we can flex muscles with anyone.

By reading this guy's notes. He is the weak one and he also tries to undermine Cambodian military capabilities. Remember War cause both way. Being poor it doesn't mean you let your enemies stepped all over you. You can be a wealthy country but if you don't have hearts and mines to fight you can't win the war either. Fighting a war its all about strategies, hearts and mines of the people and soldiers. Khmers are tired to see our neighbors hurting us including me. Now that I'm grown, I am ready to get even with them and defend my land. If you too chicken out then step aside.
Oh by the way I'm a soldier of myself. I don't like war either but I won't let myself and my country to be humiliated by the enemies. I know my grandparents fought for me to have a place to live and to have a better life so I will do the same for my kids.
damn author is a chicken head. The author wants to wait until he is in a wheelchair before taking action. He/she should stick reading books. Leave the fighting to the real men.
I agree with the author to an extent. What make you think the High Ranking officials care about the future of Cambodia? They have Hundred of Million dollars sitting in a foreign bank. You think they can't get a safe country to live? Vietnam, China? While the country disappear, they be living it large. So, for me I don`t see the future any better for the common people except for the Corrupt officials. It might be even better to just have Thailand or Vietnam swallow us. It might be a better living than the current state.(sarcasms)sigh*

If I am correct, your purpose is to develop our country. Yes, I always agree with that. However, Thailand is too overwhelmingly look down on Cambodians. They even don't respect the international law, how can we stand still and watch them invading us?
Those bad Thais people don't even know where their origin comes from? How can they treat people around them well?
Oh, about crab Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand?
Did they help us yet? They come to our countries for their businesses only. They need benefits, not to help us.
For example, like Taiwan, They come to Cambodia to do drug traffic things,inflate the our economy, sold the properties, and run away (1995-1997).
For Singapore, they are so arrogant and do some computer and electronics thing in Cambodia.
So, Thais, Taiwanese, and Singapore are the same. I didn't see any large things that they contribute to Cambodia.
They are "the rich for themselves, the poor for us". Since we were out of Pol Pot regime, did these three countries help us any little thing yet?
That's why I say "rich for them, but poor for us".
About war, I think It's not gonna be any war. It(I say it) just threatens us.

This statement show that you need to change the nationality to something else. I just doubt if you live like Khmer Kampuchea Krom? you will know how those Vietnamese do to us? Or you can go to Pataya and see how they treat our Khmer there.

Who care if they look down at us. We're not fed by their mom. We are Khmer that should look down at them. They are thieves. Remember that to all Khmers!!! We know who we are from. From 710. And the Thai played us because they can not deal with other threats. They knew that land is ours. They exploit this to the point of no return. It began when their country are in economic decline, right after pp riots about Thai actress said that Angkor is Thai. Plus they use this to test Khmer surin loyalty. We Khmer should not give up this land that the Thai is toying us. Who do they think they are to come to our land and bring guns and violin like they own the place. We should kill them soldiers to test that hot water! We should push back just a bit at a time. But after preah vihear management team decision first from unesco. Then we decides what is appropriate to act. Right now, just sit back on our ground and pick our nose and scratch our butt! After unesco decision which is on 2012. True, Thailand is bigger and stronger than us militarily and more prosperous than us economically. That doesn't mean that we have to let them step on our head whenever they feel like to do it. We, as a nation, must defend our land and our survival at all cost. We have to let the Thais know that we are not a coward, even though we are small. The reason the Thais stepped on over head and bullied us whenever they wanted is because we let them do it. We always submitted to their demands, however unreasonable they are. The area where the sign was erected is our territory. We can do whatever we want inside our house. No one has any right to tell us what to do- including the Thais.
The author of this article is an idiot. This coward is a hopeless fool. Just give up and let Thailand win the fight? His suggestion is to just give up and do nothing, let Thailand do what it wants to Cambodia? Why do I have the feeling the author of this article is a Siem dog. This attitude may work in some centuries ago when Cambodia still have land to run to and hide. Nowaday, Cambodia cannot afford to do that. Everytime the enemy threaten us, we back down, it only make enemy more stronger. This is why the enemy continue keep on bullying Cambodia. It's about time Cambodia start growing some backbone and standing up to defend what is right. Stop acting like a spinless cowards, Cambodia.
Yes both of you guys are right to certain extence. however, you guys forget about the southside of our country. remember Vietname invaded Cambodia and how long it took? so don't kidden ourselves to think that we are strong in militarily o.k. like the author said we live by the donors, we can't survive without them who give us food and roof over our heads. I was a solider for Cambodian for so long and I know how hard that is to fight against a stronger enermy like Thailand because they have alots of modern weapons and jets and so on.....why Mr. Hun Sen always, said that we are not afraid of thai because he is rely on Vietnam on his back. if you don't believe me just look it up youself o.k.
1:46 AM, so you were a soldier in Cambodia for a long time and you know how hard that is to fight a stronger enemy like Thailand with their modern jets and so on? When was the last time Thailand had a good fight using its modern weapons and jets and so on with Cambodia? I mayself was also a soldier during the late 1980's fighting the communist Vietnamese occupation of Cambodia. Thailand had never been proven in the battle field fighting anyone using its modern weaponry. Its weapon are only good for show and tell. Thailand is only good at flexing its muscle with country like Cambodia. When it come to Malaysia or Burma, Thailand is actually a pussy in disguize. Those modern military machines had never been proven in defeating any Thailand's neighboring nation. Modern weapons can only do so much. When its come down to hard fighting, it the foot soldiers on the ground that really count. Cambodian army and commanders are the battle-harden soldiers. Their style of fighting is a mix coventional and guerilla tactics. This was the tactics used to kick the communist Vietnam invader in the ass. The CV and the pro-Vietnam Khmer Rouge thought they were the shit. After 10 years of fighting, they shit in their pants. Don't forget, CV fought American not too long before that. The Cambodian fighters were able kick the CV invader out of Cambodia with their lowtech weapons. So I'm confidence Cambodian military will not be detered by Thailand fancy weapons. Keep this in mind, Thailand will be fighting a whole nation of Cambodia, not a small group of Cambodian fighters. As soon as those Thai soldiers step into Cambodia, the Cambodian militias will start putting their unconventional dirty style of fighting to work. And those guys are all hell-bent to have a piece of Siem, a payback for centuries bitterness. So don't allow yourself to be fooled that attacking and invading Cambodia is going to be as easy as eating a padthai.

I don't need to change my identity. Don't attack a person if you know nothing about them. It shows a lack of intelligent. You seem blind of the current living situation for many Cambodians. Poor and humiliated by their government. How about that? Notice the sarcasm sigh part? I guess you felt compell to reply so bad you just missed that part. How about you take your compelling feelings and go to Cambodia and strap a bomb to yourself and stand in front of the ministry building and detonate yourself? J/K! Really tho, like I said what make you think these monkey officials care about the future of Cambodia and not themselves? Maybe war would be good for us. If the opposition and the smart people play their cards right. They just might get a chance to get control of the government and take over. How about that?
