A skyscraper that will be 550 plus meters high would be the tallest building in Asia. Holy shit...this is unbelievable for Cambodia. I'm shock of this exciting news. It had to cost at least $200 millions, probably close to half a billion dollars. I know Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is 452 meters high and costs $1.5 billions to construct. It's a magnificent structure to see. It a pride and joy of Malaysia and symbolizes modern architectural achievement and economic prosperity.
If this 550 meters high building is constructed, it will shock Southeast Asia and Cambodia's neighbors of the east and west like rush of tsunami. Who would have thought a small country whose GDP are being mocked at as the second poorest country in Asia. Damn those that misjudged Cambodia. Cambodia had been beating down, walked on, and laughed at long enough. The curse is lifting from Cambodia. Foreign investors are putting in a lot of money for investing in Cambodia's up and coming economic boom. Many factories will be built, many jobs will be created, export will increase, and the standard of living for Cambodian will improve dramatically. Given a decade or two, Cambodia will be a nation that will have much admiration and respect amongst the ASEAN members,
Asia, and the world. NEVER UNDER ESTIMATED THE WILL OF THE KHMER NATION.
Yes, it is so proud if we can build this 555 meter. I have never thought that Cambodia is poor, even in the past. Cambodia has a lot of natural resources. Now, we just found the titanium worth more than 200 billions US dollar, and the gold worth more than 3000 billions US dollar, and new found gold in Krati, it's really sure that Cambodia will be the richest country one in the upcoming future. the upcoming Koh Kong City with cooperation with Hong Kong investment + Thaksin, and some other Korean projects like camko city, Koh Rong Project...etc.
However, I'm sure that this communist government will let the people poor. As I see the largest Chinese government, they never let their own people rich, but the government itself.
Thus, no matter what, at least we can see, but we cannot be contributed much by that developments.
I don't see any use at this stage to build the tallest building in Asia, while Cambodia and Cambodians are very impoverished. Alt of office spaces in Phnom Penh are still empty at this stage. I believe Hun Sen just want to make a name for himself only.
9:30 am, I think Ah Hun Sen only make announcement of this project. The skyscraper will be financed by China and the construction will be done by foreign companies who would have experience in such construction. This project is a private enterprise with the support of Cambodian government, you could say the spokeman is Hun Sen.
I don't think poverty in Cambodia has anything to do with this project. Cambodian government are known for many nagative things, if and when this project is completed, I don't think Cambodian government will be known for making Cambodia become more impoverish.
The money to construct this building is not taken from the
people' pockets. It is a foreign private investment.
Something good will come out from the construction of this
555m high skyscraper. Let us try not to see Cambodia as 5 or 10 years ago. Let us not always assume the worst for Cambodia. Lately, Cambodia had shown to be one of the
fastest growing economy in Asia. Foreign investors know
the potential for investing in Cambodia. Let us have some
positive thoughts for Cambodia.
