Passengers travelling on Cambodia's national carrier, the newly-established Cambodia Angkor Air (CAA), has increased by 57-61% this year, compared to the figures in 2009 which saw CAA increased its passenger numbers by only between 20-30% of the air travel market in Cambodia.
A representative from CAA said the company started to make profits when the passenger numbers had increased by 50%.
Mr. Soy Sokhann, director of Cambodian Civil Aviation, said CAA's total increase in passenger numbers are made up of 57% Phom Penh-Siem Reap route, 61% Phnom Penh-Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) route and 57% Siem Reap-Saigon route.
