After the completion of its first ever sky bridge, the Phnom Penh authority plans to build an underground motorway to help ease the increased traffic congestion that could choke the city's traffic in the future, reports everyday.com.

Mr. Kep Chuktema (pictured), Governor of Phnom Penh City, said after the inauguration of the city's first ever sky bridge in June 2010, Prime Minister Hun Sen plans to order a construction of the first underground road from the intersection of Russian and Mao Tse-tung Boulevards at the traffic light near the Cambodian Institute of Technology.

He said Phnom Penh is proud to have the first sky bridge operational in June and hopes to build its first and historical underground road to help ease the daily traffic congestion which is expected to increase significantly in the next few years.

If I have my say; I would want to eliminate the street signs of Russia and Mao Zedong. Both stands for "death" as of their ideology beliefs. Lots of people died under communist Russia and Mao Zedong. I believe we have enough death and suffering in srok Khmer by embracing such foolish philosophy. Communism core belief is that there is no "God." God made it clear if you reject him you love death. True wisdom comes from him. Otherwise, "every way of man seem right in his own eye, but the end thereof is death." The implication is not just to an individual alone but effect the whole nation if it base on law that may have been passed that was contrary to God's wisdom.

Example: Rights to have abortion=death. God sayth: "Choose life."

The United Nations sayth: "Children can sue their parents for reprimanding their bad behaviors... God sayth; "Whoever curses his father and mother shall be put to death."

I agree. I know Russia and China paid for the construction of the boulevards, but it's time we change the name. They should be named after Cambodia's famous places or famous people like Jayavarman VII, Chuon Nath, Santhor Mok or Krom Ngoy, Chenla, Longvek etc.
