The Phnom Penh Court has issued an arrest warrant for opposition leader Sam Rainsy on Tuesday 25th May for failing to appear in court to answer charges of disinformation and document forgery filed by the government, reports Cambodian Express News.
Investigating Judge Oeung Sieng issued the arrest warrant for Rainsy to appear before the court after he failed to appear before the court three times. However, Mr. Rainsy has always sent his lawyer to represent him in every court hearing.
Mr. Rainsy was convicted and sentenced in absentia to two years jail on 27th January for sabotage and destruction of public properties after he led about 100 villagers to uproot border posts in late 2009. He has lived in self-imposed exile in France since then.
After he was sentenced he had released a series od documents purporting to show Vietnamese encroachments on Cambodian borders, but the Cambodian government accused Mr. Rainsy of faking and forging the maps and border documents.
If convicted of disiformation and document forgery, Mr. Rainsy could face between 5 t0 15 years in jail.

Yes, this is a kangaroo court so no one will give a damn about it. Rainsy will never get justice, so better don't deal with this court. This is another example of Hun Sen's court convicting a patriot by defending Vietnam's interests.
