តាំងពីសម័យមហានគរមក (សតវត្សរ៍ទី ១២-១៣) ផ្ទៃដីប្រទេសកម្ពុជា បានរួញកាន់តែតូចទៅៗ ដូចបង្ហាញក្នុងផែនទី ៣ ផ្ទាំងភ្ជាប់មកជាមួយនេះ។
- ទឹកដីខ្មែរបានរួញពីខាងលិច ដោយសារសៀម ក្នុងរយៈពេល ៨០០ ឆ្នាំកន្លងមកនេះ។
- ទឹកដីខ្មែរបានរួញពីខាងកើត ដោយសារយួន ក្នុងរយៈពេល ៤០០ ឆ្នាំកន្លងមកនេះ។

Since the times of the Khmer Empire (12th-13th centuries), Cambodia’s territory has continuouly shrunk as shown by the following three maps.
- We have lost territories on the West to the Siam (later known as Thai) over the last 800 years.
- We have lost territories on the East to the Yuon (later known as Vietnamese) over the last 400 years.
